We are thankful to a Mindanaon environmental and educational organization and advocates/defenders who invited us to facilitate a 2-day Kauban Social Justice-informed Psychosocial Support training workshop (capacity-building) in Davao City last May 2025. This emerged from the organization's own commitment towards the wellbeing of the indigenous and environmental advocates they are supporting, intent on nourishing their capacity to respond to incidents and events with a trauma-informed lens.
In our time together, we learned principles of care aligned to Sikolohiyang Pilipino and liberatory psychologies, Psychological First Aid skills, collective care principles and practices, while doing role plays, dancing, fun games, critical awareness raising activities, and many more.
One of the most memorable sharings was on the Psychosocial Impact mapping of Red-tagging in Davao, and how these affect the wellbeing of individuals, families, organizations, and communities.
